Since 2003, WhiteWave has worked with Bonneville Environmental Foundation (BEF) to offset energy consumption with the purchase of renewable energy credits called "Green Tags." BEF, a nonprofit organization established in 1998, supplies green power products to public utilities, businesses and governments in order to restore watershed ecosystems and further the development of new renewable energy resources. The energy WhiteWave has saved through this partnership is the equivalent of eliminating 15,000 tons of Greenhouse Gas emissions, taking 22,000 cars off the road for one year, or planting 28,000 trees each year.
