Since 2003, WhiteWave has worked with Bonneville Environmental Foundation (BEF) to offset energy consumption with the purchase of renewable energy credits called "Green Tags." BEF, a nonprofit organization established in 1998, supplies green power products to public utilities, businesses and governments in order to restore watershed ecosystems and further the development of new renewable energy resources. The energy WhiteWave and its brands have saved through this partnership is equivalent to eliminating more than 433,000 metric tons of GHG emissions, taking more than 91,000 cars off the road for one year, and eliminating the CO2 emissions from more than 56,000 American homes for one year.
